Prerequisites on Windows

Installation of the Dollar Universe Application Server should be carried out under a Windows Administrator account, either Local or Domain, since the installation procedure needs to create a number of Windows Services.

Disk Space

Dollar Universe V6 requires 400 MB minimum disk space to install correctly.

Operating System

For more information on operating systems and compatibility with other Dollar Universe products, refer to the compatibility matrix available at https://docs.automic.com > Dollar Universe > Dollar Universe - Compatibility Matrix.

To install Dollar Universe on Windows, the WoW64 sub-system (Windows-on-Windows 64-bit) must be activated. This is usually the case, but it may have been disabled and the system is no longer compatible with 32 bits applications including Dollar Universe installation utility: InstallShield.

Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable 64 bits libraries must be installed on the system to install Dollar Universe for Windows 64 bits.

Software

A Univiewer Management Server should be accessible (on UNIX or Windows) to register the Dollar Universe Application Server. If at the time of installing Dollar Universe Application Server V6, the Univiewer Management Server is unreachable, registration may be carried out manually at a later moment.

No license is required to operate Dollar Universe and its components from version 6.10.01. Earlier versions can use the infinite licenses contained in the file goldkeys.txt located in the app /files directory of UVMS version 6.10.01 and following. The tracking of the used nodes is done via telemetry, which must be configured in UVMS from version 6.10.01. Refer to the Univiewer Administration Guide for more details.

Prerequisites must be met for using the SAP NetWeaver RFC library, otherwise the Manager for SAP Solutions process may not start correctly. Please see SAP Note 1025361 for instructions.

Start / Stop Company

In case of a V5 to V6 upgrade, the Company must be started in order to run the upgrade procedure.

In case of a V6 to V6 update, Windows instance services must all be stopped before the update. If not stopped, a message will inform the user of the services to stop, for example:

Univer$e <COMPANY>_<NODE> interactive desktop

Univer$e <COMPANY>_<NODE> user administrator

Univer$e <COMPANY>_<NODE>_EEP_X

Univer$e <COMPANY>_<NODE>_IO_X

The user must stop all services:

As of version 6.10.41, documentation new updates are posted on the Broadcom Techdocs Portal.
